Hold your breath for four minutes ? The Cemetery

Sangpae-dong Public Cemetery has served as a burial site for more than 5,000 unidentified deceased since the colonial era. These “unidentified” deceased belong to many different kinds of minority groups that have drifted in and vanished out by the political shifts in the history of Dongducheon.

Ieoh Island

This film is a bizarre piece by director Kim Ki-young who freely interpreted the novelist Yi Cheong-jun’s original story. Adopting the frame of a mystery drama and crossing over different time periods, Kim combines shamanism, the salvation of human beings, and even ecology in the film.

Mae Nak

Mae Nak is a deconstruction of the one of Thailand’s most popular ghost story “Mae Nak Phra Khanong” as well as the most popular genre of ghost films (more than twenty versions exist). The story is about the jealous spirit of a woman who died in childbirth while her husband was away in the battlefield.

Medium Earth

The accumulation of moving images and sounds that makes up Medium Earth comprise an audiovisual essay on the millennial time of geology and the infrastructural unconscious of Southern California.

The Radiant

The Radiant explores the aftermath of March 11, 2011, when the Great Tohoku Earthquake struck the Northeast Coast of Japan at 2:46 pm, triggering a tsunami that killed tens of thousands and causing the partial meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

Scenes of Between

A father told an anecdote to his son. The story is a kind of absurd folktale that is hard to believe as historical fact. The documentary is about the narrative based on “facts” that have been passed on orally.

Pea

The “Pea” refers to the spirits living in the forest of Thailand. The spirit Pea sleeping among the trees is not visible to the human adult. In this film, which was shot in the village of Surin in northeastern Thailand, a boy from the village was painted black on his whole body and walked among the adults.

Trip to the Wound

This is one of a series of compilations: seven short fiction films and three short documentaries. It is directed by ten filmmakers, visual artists and musicians to honor the tenth anniversary of the Indonesian Reform era.
